Abstract

in case of lighter and heavier products resp., which might be used as feed stock materials. Differences in the properties of volatile products could be observed with increasing temperature, but not significant differences were noticed between various waste polymers. Subsequent distillation of the products, fuel like liquids that had low sulphur and nitrogen content and high cetane index was carried out. The olefin content of the fractions and the distribution of the double bonds were determined by infrared spectroscopy and the distribution of carbon atoms by gas-chromatography. The gas and liquid products contained a significant amount of unsaturated hydrocarbons, mainly terminal olefins.
