Generalization of the Entropy of Mixing I.

Abstract

In order to give a theoretical treatment of the mixing process, the formula describing the increase in entropy of the mixing of ideal gases has been generalized and the properties of the quantity thus obtained are dealt with. The entropy of mixing seems as a quantitative indication of the degree of permixing. The second part of this paper reviews the practical application on simplified fluid mechanical model.
