Abstract

Anaerobic degradation processes: anaerobic digestion (biogasification), biohydrogen fermentation (dark) and microbial fuel cells were applied to treat the organic fraction of a municipal solid waste.
The processes were compared based on their ability of energy recovery and Chemical Oxygen Demand reduction.
